Meet Hiedi & Jim Salisbury
Hiedi and Jim Salisbury feel like they have the best job in the world. Every day they get to enjoy incredibly breath taking views, they can ski whenever they want (although they’re often too busy entertaining their mountain guests to get out on the slopes for fun) and they get to meet people from all over BC, Canada and other parts of the world too. However, what really brings them joy and satisfaction in their work is all of the locals that they get to deal with, including their Mackenzie visitors as well as their staff members. Living and working in a small town “feels more like a family,” says Hiedi.
Hiedi and Jim were looking for a change in their lives when they decided to purchase Powder King Resort. As avid outdoors enthusiasts, the business was an ideal fit, and it has given them the opportunity to invest in their own future. They have appreciated the many opportunities they’ve had over the years to promote one of Mackenzie’s finest features: its vast natural playground. “We have it all here,” says Hiedi of the local recreational possibilities. Whatever the season, there is always something amazing to enjoy outdoors.
The Salisburys feel optimistic about Mackenzie’s future. They are grateful to be a part of the business community and the dedicated small business owners that help to sustain the local economy.
