Meet Cara Bowen
Cara Bowen believes in the idea of having a village to help raise a child. This is one of the things that she appreciates about life in the small town of Mackenzie. "I get to watch my kids grow amongst neighbours and friends," she says, in a community where she feels they are safe and cared for. There is also no shortage of things for children to do here, and grown ups too for that matter. Mackenzie is rife with trails and mountains, recreational activities, clubs and so many other things. It is an ideal place to bring up a family.
Cara has a passion for healthy living, which is what motivated her to purchase her business in 2015. She wanted to be able to share that passion with the people in the community that she cares about. She wanted to be able to make organic foods and other natural products more available so that people have alternatives to what is regularly available in grocery stores. Through it all, she is working hard to promote farming and local farmers, growers and their products, all of which helps to contribute to a sustainable community.
When Cara isn't busy at her store, she is usually spending time with her family or playing outside, or both. The family tries to get outdoors often, whether it's hiking, biking, paddling or show-shoeing. They also enjoy going camping.
